North Sea operators such as Apache Corporation are turning to a Scottish data visualisation company Nugensis as one means of cutting their costs in response to the continuing low oil price.
Aberdeen-based Nugensis has developed a software system called AIM (Asset Intelligence Management) for the Oil & Gas industry which allows operators to improve real time data monitoring of diverse assets used in North Sea operations, thereby improving overall efficiency.
Stuart Taylor, Maintenance & Operations Support Manager, Apache says:
“Operational efficiency has never been more important in the North Sea, with everyone trying to reduce costs wherever practical to counterbalance the on-going impact of the much lower oil price currently in play. AIM will improve our efficiency by giving Apache the ability to input and access the right information easily. The system gives us the flexibility to manage our operational data more effectively and to view our operations at a glance, allowing us to collaborate more effectively across the company.”
