Wardview was developed by Nugensis, and has been developed by and for clinicians to directly improve patient care. Wardview is in place, or there are firm plans in place, in 92 per cent of acute hospitals across Scotland as well as four community hospitals. NHS Doncaster and Bassetlaw Trust are also in the process of implementing WardView across their acute hospitals.
The technology surrounding Wardview is very simple – innovation often is. It draws together existing sources of information to enable busy medical staff
- This single view of information facilitates and speeds up the integration of care provided across many specialities.
- Critical actions are immediately viewed through alerts at a glance.
- Views can be customised for individual wards and can include information such as real-time bed status, medical alerts, referral status, current consultants, dependency scores, estimated discharge dates and discharge medications.
- As it interfaces with the hospital’s core patient management system, labs, pharmacy and other departmental clinical systems, it provides a co-ordinated single view of a ward’s current and complete situation.
Wardview also has the facility to pick up the results of patient satisfaction surveys completed in the ward. An easy to use patient experience app can be provided on a tablet device. The results can be immediately viewed on the whiteboard to enable a swift response to trends and issues in the wards. It supports the drive to understand and react to patients’ views as part of providing a more person-centric health service. Immediate results are available to hospital staff who can drill down into individual hospitals and wards if required.
